The Development Office

We established The Red Maids’ Development Office in 2003 to support our commitment to providing excellent facilities and to help us offer assisted places in line with the founding principles of John Whitson.

Since its beginning, the Development Office has established a comprehensive database of former pupils, parents, staff, governors and friends, all of whom have an interest in the continuing success of the school.

In the competitive world of independent education, professional fundraising is now an essential part of school life. Over the past nine years individual donations and legacies have enabled us to:

  • offer an increased number of bursaries and scholarships
  • increase the capital amount invested in the endowment
  • make a number of significant improvements to the school site, including the complete re-building of the Sixth Form Centre in 2011.

All this is only possible with your support. Please contact Jo Downing in the Development Office to discuss the role you could play in the future of Red Maids’. Call 0117 989 8256 or email
