The Curriculum

To help your daughter develop a range of interests and talents, we have a stimulating, broad-based curriculum. Whether working independently or as part of a team, we encourage our girls to be active learners with a positive, ‘can do’ attitude.

We develop outstanding linguistic and communication skills through theatre trips, drama productions, national literacy competitions, English Speaking Board Examinations, debating groups, poetry readings, and by encouraging pupils to present their work to their peers.

We introduce foreign language and culture at an early age. All girls learn French, and we teach Latin to Years 5 and 6.

Activities such as film animation, robotics and problem-solving groups, science workshops and maths competitions all help to challenge students intellectually. Our extensive art, music and drama programmes enrich aesthetic and creative development.

We take the girls on numerous trips to places of interest to enhance their classroom learning – sometimes we go out just for fun too!

We also use the superb facilities at The Red Maids’ Senior School. This means we can provide a range of physically challenging sports on site, during the school day. Sports include gymnastics, dance, football, tennis and cross-country running. This is in addition to the extensive programme of team sports such as netball, hockey and rounders.

“Today I have had the best day of my life!”
