At the heart of RMJS lies our core aim to meet the individual needs of each girl. We will provide the support and stimulation your daughter needs to achieve her full potential.
We recognise girls who are very able – be it academic, musical, artistic or physical. We know girls with high natural ability need to be stretched and challenged, so provide numerous opportunities outside the core curriculum. These include taking part in specific events such as Maths Challenges, Spelling Bees, the First Lego League Robotics Challenge and the National Junior Memory Championship.
We also look for interesting opportunities further afield, such as residential courses at Kilve Court, online courses run by Oxford University or Saturday master-classes. And of course girls with talents in music, drama and sport have a wealth of concerts, plays and sports fixtures each term to help develop their skills and showcase their talents.
Equally, we can support the needs of girls with a specific learning difficulty such as dyslexia or dyscalculia: our specialist teacher can offer one-to-one support lessons, tailored to meet the needs of your child. Sometimes girls need ad-hoc support, so we arrange ‘booster courses’ in areas such as phonics, reading or writing skills. To help your daughter overcome any learning obstacles, we will draw up an Individual Education Plan, which we will closely monitor and regularly review.
