Where sport is concerned, we firmly believe there is something for everyone. We want all our girls to have fun and to reach their full potential – regardless of ability – so everyone enjoys at least three hours of sport every week.
We benefit from superb, on-site sports facilities, which include a flood-lit astro-turf pitch, a sports hall and dance studio, outdoor and indoor netball courts and three grass pitches for rounders.
Curriculum sport is run by specialist PE teachers and includes swimming, gymnastics, dance, football, games skills, hockey, netball, rounders, athletics and tennis.
We also have a number of extra-curricular sports clubs, including judo, fencing, tag rugby, ballet and water polo, which are open to everyone. For some of these, we bring in external coaches who are experts in their field. Our extensive fixtures list means you can represent your school and compete against other teams, in addition to enjoying the many inter-house sporting events. Some of our girls not only play for the school, but also for the county.
All girls have weekly swimming lessons which take place throughout each term. The cost is all included in the fees.
The autumn term arrangements are as follows:
- Y3 and Y4 swim on Wednesday morning. They leave school at 8.40am and swim from 9‐10 am, returning for morning break at 10.30am
- Y5 and Y6 swim on Friday morning, split into two sessions:
‐ Session 1 leaves school at 8.30am, swimming from 9‐9.30am and returning for 10am
‐ Session 2 swim from 9.30‐10am, returning to school for break at 10.30am
