'Pupils and staff during each visit have been extremely helpful, polite and welcoming'

In July 2012, a group of Year 11 (and two Year 12) girls travelled to Uganda with three members of staff. They saw the work being done by The Bujagali Trust, who create educational opportunities for young people in Uganda, and visited two orphanages.

They then travelled to a remote village to see how The Busoga Trust locates water sources, educates local communities about sanitation and builds wells. The girls also went to Gulu to visit the two schools we are linked to, before meeting Irene, an A Level student, whose education we support.

As part of the trip, the girls also went on safari to Murchison Falls and were lucky enough to see four of the big five: lion, buffalo, rhino and elephant.

We plan to run more school trips to Uganda. But in the meanwhile, will continue with our fundraising efforts.
