Geography gives you the chance to travel the world from the classroom!
Students gain a fascinating insight into issues in the UK as well as in newly emerging economies and lower income countries. Important global themes such as climate change, poverty, shifts in economic power and the challenge of using sustainable resources are also discussed.
From Year 7, the Geography Department organise field trips to help students develop independent research and enquiry skills. In addition, they arrange trips to places further afield, such as Iceland, to give girls the opportunity to see a variety of geographical wonders first-hand, including boiling mud pools, erupting geysers, glaciers, waterfalls, volcanoes, lava flows, ash deserts, mighty rivers and stunning coastlines.
All students in Years 7 to 9 study Geography and it is an optional subject in Year 10 when we follow the OCR syllabus.
