The technological world is continually developing and changing. To help our students to embrace these changes and feel confident with new technologies, we provide a broad exposure to the mechanics of the computing world - from binary and hardware to the application of technologies in industry.
In Years 7, 8 and 9 we want students who are confident computer users, who feel comfortable using both Android and Windows devices and who can use and design apps for an iPad. We also teach students to code their own games and robots, and to become confident engineers with an eye on 'future problem solving'. In 2016, we introduced the exciting BBC Microbit into Year 7.
In Year 10, we offer the OCR GCSE in Computer Science which enables students to develop valuable programming skills along with an understanding of the impact of digital technology on society as a whole.
The GCSE course provides a seamless transition into studying Computer Science at A Level or as part of the International Baccalaureate Diploma.
