Redmaids' High Senior School
"We provide an outstanding all-round education for girls aged 11 to 18. We want our students to find things they enjoy and can succeed at. This makes for a happy, purposeful school where girls thrive.
Academically, our students perform outstandingly well. In 2016, at GCSE 70% of all grades were A* to A and at A Level (and IB equivalent) 69% of all grades were A* to B. More importantly, most of our girls go on to their first-choice university.
But we are not just about academic excellence. As you would expect from a leading independent school, we also provide an extensive range of extra-curricular opportunities and our girls often say, ‘the difficulty is, fitting it all in’.
The pastoral care here is excellent. While we strive to help each girl reach her full academic potential, we are also fully committed to seeing our students mature into secure, happy young women.
We firmly believe in single-sex education, the benefits of which are well-documented. Founded in 1634, we are the oldest girls’ school in the country. We are proud of this history, but never complacent about the future. We have outstanding facilities on site and we are constantly improving and investing in these.
Our most recent Independent Schools' Inspectorate Report judged us to be 'excellent' in every single category. But do come and see for yourself. It is only when you visit our school, and hear our confident, articulate girls talk about their plans for the future, that you really get a sense of what we are all about."
