A Level Curriculum
Our A Level programme is wide and varied, with an excellent range of subjects - all taught by subject specialists. From September 2016, students will take three or four linear A Levels, with examinations taken at the end of the Upper Sixth. Most students will take three A Levels with at least one additional qualification. This could be in Creative Writing, Statistics, the Duke of Edinburgh Gold, a Greek GCSE, the High Sports Leaders Award, the Extended Project Qualification (EPQ) or a fourth A Level. Sixth Form students also follow an enrichment programme and receive professional, on-going support for the university admissions (UCAS) process.
Due to exceptionally small tutor and class groups, the A Level teaching staff get to know their pupils well. These close-knit, supportive relationships allow the girls to fulfil their potential in a number of different areas.
Sixth Form teaching generally takes place in our dedicated Sixth Form rooms or in well equipped subject areas such as the laboratories, or music block, within in the main school. There is a Sixth Form computer suite which supports and fosters the growth of an independent learning culture.
