IB Diploma Curriculum
The International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme is a well-established and highly regarded international qualification which provides depth and breadth of study. Diploma students study for six subjects at the same time, three at Higher Level and three at Standard Level. They also complete a compulsory core, which includes an extended essay research project, a taught course called Theory of Knowledge, and a social enrichment programme called Creativity, Activity, Service.
The small classes we have at Red Maids’ are highly beneficial to learning and there is a genuine focus on development of student skills such as research and independent learning.
Students studying the IB also join a much wider, global academic community which aims to develop internationally minded people. This philosophy fits with our school ethos of developing ‘happy, independent and ambitious students who enjoy learning and who are able to make a positive impact on their world.’

“When applying for university, I found Admissions Tutors were fascinated by the IB and valued my decision to take it. I received offers from all five Russell Group universities within three months.”
